Tigers Win Rematch with Orioles

Springfield lost just once during the regular season in Tomahawk East League play. It was on a trip to Leavenworth. This time, the starting pitchers were the same, the run differental was the same, but it was the Tigers who came out on top, 4-3.
NOTES: Leavenworth has been a tough road trip for Springfield during the past decade. Springfield is just 3-7 during the regular season in L-Town. Riverside Park has been a different story. During the regular season and playoffs, the Orioles have not won in Springfield since 2012...A baseball rarity happened when a pitcher returned to the mound after a reliever took over for them in the previous inning. Jordan Milbrath came on in relief of Brandon Wilhelmi with two outs in the top of the eighth. Milbrath got the last out of the eighth and the first two outs of the ninth. Suddenly, the bases were loaded. Wilhelmi came back to get a strikeout and a save...A new pad has been installed behind the plate for safety and to help save baseballs at Riverside Park. The pad will change the bounce off the backstop, deadening the ball significantly. No more balls sometimes bouncing back into fair territory...The Region 2C Tournament complete schedule can be found on the Tomahawk East League website.
