Tigers Secure Top Seed in Courtland

Springfield has put together many solid seasons, but it has been a long time since the Tigers won their division or the Tomahawk East League championship. The offense was clicking as the Tigers jumped out to a 5-0 lead, but Courtland battled back to take a 6-5 edge after four innings.
The Tiger bats went back to work after falling behind, putting up 14 runs to secure a 19-6 victory. Springfield did their best impression of the Twins' Bombasquad by hitting five homers on the night. Decker Scheffler's first of two was perhaps the most impressive, easily clearing the net behind the right field fence.
NOTES: Tomahawk Conference team finished in third place in the 2020 Senior Class Salute at CHS Field. Their only loss in the tournament came on Saturday against New Prague...The Region 2C Tournament kicks off with the 5-12 seeds playing in four games on Friday, 8/7. The top four teams in the league, Springfield, Hanska, New Ulm, and Lamberton will await the winners from Friday night on Saturday.
