Springfield Scores Four in the Bottom of the Eighth for the Win

The Tigers started the scoring with two in the bottom of the first. Hanska battled back to plate two runs and tie it up in the top of the third. Springfield grabed a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the fourth.
With runners at second and third and two down in the top of the fifth, Springfield issued an intential walk to load the bases. Zach Fischer made them pay when he crushed a double to deep center field, giving the Lakers a 6-3 edge.
In the bottom of the eighth, Hanska helped the Tigers out with three errors that in total gave Springfield four runs, the lead, and the 7-6 win.
NOTES: It was the battle of the new jerseys on Friday night at Riverside Park. Hanska was sporting new threads, while the Tigers wore their new red jerseys for the second time. The Lakers had worn a black top with an H since 2013. They are now sporting a black pullover top with "Hanska" across the front...This game marks the 1/3 of the way mark in the abbreviated Tomahawk East League season. With the win, Springfield and Hanska are tied for first place as each club sits at 3-1.
