Tiger Bats Come Alive in Win Over Sleepy Eye

Four players had multi-hit games as the Tigers defeated a very good hitting Sleepy Eye team.  Springfield took the lead in the first inning with three straight hits.  The Tigers added a run in the third inning on a Ryan Sturm double followed by a Chris Sturm triple.  Brandon Wilhelmi scored after smashing a triple in the bottom of the fourth to make the score 3-0.  After scoring another single run in the fifth, the score was 4-0 in the top of the seventh, when the Indians scored their lone run on back-to-back doubles.  Springfield added an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth, bringing the final tally to 5-1.

For the third time this season, Matt Tews gave up just one run in another complete game victory to move to 3-0.  Brandon Wilhelmi led the home team offensively with four hits.  Adam Timm, Bob Fink, and Chris Sturm each added two hits.  Ryan Sturm and Derek Krebs had one hit each.
