Finally! Some Baseball!

After stay-at-home orders due to the COVID-19 pandemic canceled the college, high school and American Legion baseball seasons, everyone was anxiously awaiting amateur baseball. Once the states surrounding Minnesota had all opened and were allowing games, it wasn't long before teams from Minnesota were heading over the border to play some baseball.
Springfield made the trip to Bancroft, Iowa on Wednesday night for an exhibition tilt against the Fairmont Martins. The Martins had already played three games, compared to the Tigers who hit the field for the first time in 2020.
NOTES: Sam Baier left the ballgame in the bottom of the 2nd inning with an injured hand. It had been exactly 10 months since the Tigers played their last game. Springfield's next game is uncertain, as everyone awaits activities opening up from the COVID-19 restrictions.
Tweet All About it: Tigers pound out 13 hits but fall 16 - 7. @5_deck launched a HR to tie it at 5 and @Erickson_6 pulled a double (not a typo). We trailed 10-7 in the 6th & then things started to unravel. @JustinHaugo got the start & Leonard, Flock, & Leonard came on in relief and all threw well.
